Physical Installation - Plug in the power supply and connect the power to the DSL router.
- Plug one end of the provided ethernet cable into the first port on the back of the router, labeled 1. With your computer powered on, plug the other end into your computer's ethernet adapter.
- The phone cord included with your router is your ADSL cable, this is the cable that should be used to connect your router to the phone jack. Plug one end into the ADSL port on the back of the Router and the other end directly into your phone jack on the wall. Run the line directly from the wall to the router, the line must not be plugged into anything other than the router and the wall. Splitters, answering machines, surge protectors, fax machines, etc., will interfere with the operation of your DSL line.
Verify Connectivity - Make sure that the POWER LED is lit and green on the router. If the TEST LED is red and does not turn off, unplug the router, wait 10 minutes, then plug it back in. If the light stays red and does not turn green, call our office at 425.818.6500 or 888.662.5274.
- The first LNK/ACT in the LAN indicator row should be green and possibly flickering occasionally. This indicates a connection to your computer. If the indicator light does not come on alternate the position of the switch on the back labeled X II. If, after changing the position of the switch the light still does not come on, double check the connection between your computer and the router.
- Make sure the ADSL LINK/ACT LED is lit and steady. Occasional flickering is normal. If it isn't, double check the telephone line connection between the router and the wall. If the ADSL LINK/ACT light does not stay a steady green color, the router is not receiving an ADSL signal from your phone line. Call our office at 425.818.6500 or 888.662.5274 for assistance in diagnosing the cause for this.
