The long talked about changes to our shell server and DNS server infrastructure have been completed. The changes should be transparent to all users, with the notable exception of shell (SSH) access.
DNS is essentially unchanged, residing on animal.blarg.net (aka ns1.avvanta.com 206.124.128.1) There should be no obvious change in behavior with the new DNS service and you will not need to reconfigure anything due to our updates to this machine.
Shell (SSH) users: As a reminder there is no longer any shell access using the orignal nameserver names (specifically, "animal.blarg.net" as a host name for shell access has been retired) To connect to the shell use: shell.avvanta.com 206.124.128.10 If you encounter any problems or have any questions please contact Avvanta Support.
